THE SACRED PASCHAL TRIDUUM
The Three Days, this Easter Triduum, is the center, the core of the year for Christians. These are days to save and to savor.
Adults in the community are invited to plan ahead so that the whole time from Thursday night until the Easter Vigil is free of social engagements, free even of work, free of entertainment, free of meals except for the simplest nourishment. We are asked to fast during Good Friday and to continue fasting, if possible, all through Holy Saturday as strictly as we can, so that we come hungry and full of excitement to the Easter Vigil. We make Good Friday and Holy Saturday free for prayer and reflection and preparation and silence. The Church is getting ready.
Whether you are young or old, currently active in the parish or not, please set these days aside. ALL of us should know that our presence for the liturgies is not just by invitation. We are all needed here. ALL of us need this whole community together on its greatest days.
On these three days, we gather a number of times with each other. Together we hear some of the Church's most beautiful prayers and scriptures and we make some of our finest music. Please look closely at the parish schedule and make plans to take part in the various liturgies and other gatherings of Holy Thursday night, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. EL SAGRADO TRIDUO PASCUAL
Los Tres Días, este Triduo Pascual, son el centro, el núcleo del año para los cristianos. Son días para ahorrar y saborear.
Se invita a los adultos de la comunidad a planificar con anticipación para que todo el tiempo desde el jueves por la noche hasta la Vigilia Pascual esté libre de compromisos sociales, libre incluso de trabajo, libre de entretenimiento, libre de comidas excepto el alimento más simple. Se nos pide que ayunemos durante el Viernes Santo y que continuemos ayunando, si es posible, durante todo el Sábado Santo tan estrictamente como podamos, para que lleguemos hambrientos y llenos de entusiasmo a la Vigilia Pascual. Hacemos que el Viernes Santo y el Sábado Santo sean libres para la oración, la reflexión, la preparación y el silencio. La Iglesia se está preparando.
Ya sea joven o mayor, actualmente activo en la parroquia o no, reserve estos días. TODOS nosotros debemos saber que nuestra presencia en las liturgias no es sólo por invitación. Aquí todos somos necesarios. TODOS necesitamos a toda esta comunidad unida en sus mejores días.
Durante estos tres días, nos reunimos varias veces. Juntos escuchamos algunas de las oraciones y escrituras más hermosas de la Iglesia y hacemos nuestra mejor música. Mire de cerca el horario parroquial y haga planes para participar en las diversas liturgias y otras reuniones de la noche del Jueves Santo, el Viernes Santo y el Sábado Santo.
