Liturgical Ministries
Eucharistic Minister
Adults responsible for distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at the sacrament of the Eucharist. Designated ministers will also be in charge of bringing the ciborium to the altar and washing the chalices, bowls and the wine carafe following Mass. Ministers are assigned to a Mass of their choice, which averages about one time per month. Ministers can also volunteer to take the Blessed Sacrament to the homebound on Sunday. Proclaimer
Volunteers will proclaim the Sacred Scriptures during the Mass on the weekend or Holy Days. Participation in this ministry requires a training session. Contact: Mary Sommers
Leader
Volunteers will read announcements and introduce the Mass, as well as the Prayers of the Faithful during Mass. Participation in this ministry requires a training session. Contact: Mary Sommers
Greeter & Usher
Greeters are the first representatives of our parish when people enter the church. This ministry is to provide a warm, friendly welcome, and to assist in directing new parishioners or guests. Greeters are also available after Mass to distribute bulletins and answer any questions. Greeters help with ushering and the offertory collection. Participation in this ministry requires a training session. Contact: Jen McBride
Media Ministry
Members of this ministry operate the slide presentation program, run the livestream equipment, and manage the audio system during the weekend Masses or other special liturgies. Typically, two members per Mass is the optimum situation. A basic knowledge of computers is enough. Participation in this ministry requires a training session. Contact: Ron Dobesh
Altar Servers
The role of the Altar Server is to assist the Priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. Some of the Altar Server responsibilities include: lighting the altar candles, bearing the cross and candles in the entrance procession and assisting with holy water, water, wine and offertory gifts at Mass.
All people, 4th grade and older, including adults, can be a server at the altar during the regular weekend Masses. Participation in this ministry requires a training session. Contact: Kelley Hendrickson and Deacon Mark Bowman
Liturgy Committee
Members assist in the planning, organizing, and decorating for liturgies for each season and special occasions according to liturgical documents and local tradition. Children’s Liturgy Of the Word Leader
Children's Liturgy is a ministry held during Mass, where the children are invited to come to hear the readings in words they can easier understand. The leader of this ministry will be trained to lead the children in hearing the readings in words easier for them to understand and provide a learning experience. This takes place during Mass during the times of the readings and homily. Training, materials, and setup will be provided. Contact: Deb Kratochvil at 308-234-5536.
Eucharistic Adoration
Volunteers will spend time before the Blessed Sacrament in prayer on days of adoration. Goal is to have at least two persons present during all the hours of adoration. You determine which time period best accommodates your schedule. Contact: Mary Volker
Liturgical Environment
Church Environment volunteers seek to create a liturgical space which is conducive to both prayer and worship. Artistic creativity is certainly welcome. Contact: Sr. Catherine
