Another Fishing Story
As we near the start of religious Education classes, I wanted to take a moment to encourage all of you. It is such a vital ministry to make sure our children and youth know the faith. In the world around us and especially with social media and AI, it has become increasingly difficult to proclaim the truth. Jesus certainly had his own struggles and issues with people disagreeing with him as well. Our days see more of an influence from electronic devices and phones that have a greater impact because of the amount of time the children and youth spend on them.
This is an invitation to increase our own efforts to evangelize and share the Gospel. Many people don’t feel they know the faith well enough to teach it, or they don’t feel adequate in being a teacher of the faith. I will quote our own Youth Director Kaylyn Beyer, the Lord doesn’t call the qualified, but qualifies the called. You are a vital part of our parish and we need helpers and teachers for all levels of religious education. We would love to have 2 adults in every classroom and adult small group leaders for the middle and high school squared away before September.

A medida que nos acercamos al comienzo de las clases de Educación Religiosa, quería tomarme un momento para animarlos a todos. Es un ministerio tan vital asegurarnos de que nuestros niños y jóvenes conozcan la fe. En el mundo que nos rodea, y especialmente con las redes sociales y la inteligencia artificial, se ha vuelto cada vez más difícil proclamar la verdad. Jesús ciertamente también tuvo sus propias luchas y dificultades con personas que no estaban de acuerdo con Él. En nuestros días vemos una mayor influencia de los dispositivos electrónicos y los teléfonos, que tienen un impacto aún mayor debido a la cantidad de tiempo que los niños y jóvenes pasan utilizándolos.
Esta es una invitación a aumentar nuestros propios esfuerzos para evangelizar y compartir el Evangelio. Muchas personas sienten que no conocen suficientemente bien la fe como para enseñarla, o no se sienten capaces de ser maestros de la fe. Citaré a nuestra propia Directora de Jóvenes, Kaylyn Beyer: “El Señor no llama a los capacitados, sino que capacita a los llamados.” Ustedes son una parte vital de nuestra parroquia y necesitamos ayudantes y maestros para todos los niveles de educación religiosa. Nos encantaría tener 2 adultos en cada salón de clases, así como líderes adultos para los grupos pequeños de estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria, organizados antes de septiembre.
