This week I wanted to take a moment to thank some people who have been a huge help to me over the last year and five months. Our Parish Council is a vital part of our parish community and helps the pastor make important decisions. Since my arrival in July 2025, the Parish Council has walked every step with me and guided me to ensure we as a community make the right decisions and move in the right direction as Catholics. The Mission of St. James Parish is an important tool in helping the Parish Council to evaluate and direct our parish efforts. The following is the Mission Statement for St James Catholic Church:
As members of St. James Parish, we believe that we are called to be a sign of the presence of the Kingdom of God, to spread the good news of the gospel, and to minister and serve others. As Catholics, we believe in the dying and rising of Jesus and in our call to celebrate the sacraments and proclaim the gospel.
We will be asking for nominations for Parish Council during the month of November and nomination cards can be found in the gathering space of the church. If you see a quality in a parish member you think could be of help in promoting our Mission, please nominate them. Jesus chose Apostles and Disciples from all walks of life. We acknowledge and call forth the many gifts and talents we see in all of you here at St. James. Please take some time to look around you and nominate those you feel can be of service to all in the ministry of Parish Council.
Thank you to all who have served so generously in my time here, and those who have served faithfully in the past. If you see any of these members of the Parish Council, thank them for their service and leadership. Keven Heese (26), Jon Brandt, Shane Bendfeldt, Jonathan Desantiago, Tammy Lawter, Dave Bonk, Allen Cabalceta, Carson Watt, Lisa Hartman, Deanna Stall (Trustee), Daniela Morales (Admin.), Fr. Anthony Kirumira (Associate Pastor).

Anthony Kirumira (Pastor Asociado).
