It has been a bit of time since my last article. Numerous things have transpired since that time. We have been through the Advent season and Christmas. The 1st Sunday of Advent marked the change in liturgical year. We have moved from liturgical year “B” to liturgical year “C”. As summer draws to a close and we make plans for the fall/school season there are several updates for everyone. It has been a busy season for weddings and for baptisms. This is very good for a dynamic parish like St. James. Also, if you have not picked up your parish directory, please do so as soon as possible. There are very few that remain. It doesn’t seem possible, yet at the end of June I will have been with St. James for 2 years. The time has flown by. During that time there has been a very successful “Uniting in the Light” capital campaign. New participants are always welcome. The Stations of the Cross have been finished and hung. The Central Nebraska Respect Life Conference will take place on Saturday, April 6, at the Younes Convention Center in Kearney, NE.  Registration starts at 9:30 am and the conference will end at 2:00 pm. Cost for Adults is $20 and includes lunch; high school and college age students are free. The theme for the conference is “Unlocking the Truth about Contraception and Women’s Health” and is age appropriate for juniors in high school and older. Seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Deadline for registration is April 2, 2019.
