Care of God's Creation
Catholic Social Teaching

Please attend our Catholic Social Teaching event next Sunday, May 20th at 4:00 p.m. in the Social Hall presented by Sr . Margaret Proskovec, ND. The seventh theme of Social Justice is: Care for God’s Creation. Everyone is welcome.

Catholic Social Teaching There will be eight sessions on the seven principles of Catholic Social Teaching to be held the third Sunday of each month until May 2018 - all at 4 PM. Catholic Social Teaching is what the Catholic Church teaches us about our responsibility to make the world a better place. It includes all of the writings of Bishops and Popes that help us understand how to apply the teaching of Jesus in contemporary situations. By knowing and understanding them, we can begin to see the world they way that God wants it to be. Once we see, then we can start to make changes!

The sessions will feature historical works of art and stories to illustrate the Principles of Social Justice; time for reflection; and shared discussions. Informational fliers are available on the table’s as you enter the Church.

All are welcome. Please feel free to invite your friends and neighbors.

SCRIP Gift Card Program

To stream-line the sales process, the SCRIP program will be changing in January 2018.

• Rather than selling gift cards in the gathering space after Mass, SCRIP will now be available to purchase by completing a paper order form and placing it (along with your payment) in the collection plate during Mass or by taking it to the church office.
• Orders will be due by the 15th of each month, and gift cards will be available to pick up from the church office on or after the 22nd of each month.
• Blank order forms can be picked up in the Gathering Space, on a table outside the office.

You can use SCRIP gift cards for gift giving or for your usual day-to-day expenses such as groceries or gas. Each time you purchase SCRIP gift cards, a percentage of your purchase goes directly to St. James. Thank you for your support!!!
