Oktoberfest

St James’ Annual Church Festival will be held Sunday, October 1st at the Kearney Catholic High School! A wonderful thanksgiving meal will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be Silent Auction items, Bake Sale, Cake Walk, Craft Sale, Bingo and a Carnival for the kids!

 Oktoberfest Updates:

  • If you would like to donate an item for any of these activities, please call the parish office at 234-5536.
  • Please get your sign-up sheets into the church A.S.A.P. Thank you for your generous donations of time and talents for this great event!
  • We are still in need of a group to sell the baked good items at Oktoberfest. If you enjoy people and a good salesperson, this is the job for you! Please call the parish office and ask for Sr. Catherine.
  • The Oktoberfest Box is in the Gathering Area for your sign-up sheets and drawing tickets or sign up below.
  • The Oktoberfest Planning Committee are seeking volunteers to help in the Kitchen and Dining Room areas. We need a person, a family, a group of friends to help coordinate these two areas. You will have the full support of the committee and past volunteers, so you are not alone. Remember, this is a “GROUP” effort!
  • The Silent Auction Team for Oktoberfest would love to have anyone donate a new item or gift basket to the Silent Auction. Your involvement makes the day extra fun and exciting!! Just drop your item off at the Church with your name and marked Silent Auction. Thank you!

SCRIP Gift Card Program

To stream-line the sales process, the SCRIP program will be changing in January 2018.

• Rather than selling gift cards in the gathering space after Mass, SCRIP will now be available to purchase by completing a paper order form and placing it (along with your payment) in the collection plate during Mass or by taking it to the church office.
• Orders will be due by the 15th of each month, and gift cards will be available to pick up from the church office on or after the 22nd of each month.
• Blank order forms can be picked up in the Gathering Space, on a table outside the office.

You can use SCRIP gift cards for gift giving or for your usual day-to-day expenses such as groceries or gas. Each time you purchase SCRIP gift cards, a percentage of your purchase goes directly to St. James. Thank you for your support!!!
