    5/13/2017 8:00 AM

100th Anniversary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima

On May 13th the universal Church will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal. Everyone is welcome to join Bishop Hanefeldt at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island on Saturday, May 13th, for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed by the Rosary and Benediction. Mass for Our Lady of Fatima will follow immediately after.

Bishop Hanefeldt, in his last West Nebraska Register article, has encouraged everyone to offer special prayers on the 13th of each month until October 13th during the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions.

On Saturday, May 13th, I also encourage everyone to pray at home or make a visit to the church for any amount of time, make a holy hour, pray the Rosary, the Liturgy of the Hours (Divine Office), or private devotions.

St. James Church will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Confessions are from 3:30 – 4:30p.m. and Mass is at 5:00 p.m.
